Humble ISD Students Skip School Amid Rumored 'Hit List'

Students and parents at Kingwood Park High School kept their kids home on Friday after rumors of a hit list surfaced.

HUMBLE, TX — Humble ISD students who were rattled by the school shooting in Parkland, Florida and fearful of an attack at their campus after rumors of a 'hit list' surfaced , stayed home on Friday.

Alegations and rumors of a potential attack at Kingwood Park High School arose earlier this month when a group of boys allegedly created a hit list and began talking about plans to shoot up the school.

One student claimed he knew a student who'd seen the alleged 'hit list,' and it was a threat the district took seriously.

Humble ISD Communucation Director Jamie Mount told KTRK that school district police and officials heard about the alleged threat and launched an investigation.

"There was no real hit list. It was an inappropriate conversation among a group of high school boys during lunch," Mount said.
