Hurricane Harvey: HEB Stores Close As Hurricane Harvey Bears Down On Gulf Coast

Stores in Houston area remain open, but some will not be offering curbside services as the storm approaches

HOUSTON, TX — HEB stores in areas along the Texas Gulf Coast are closing, and in some cases closing their curbside services, on Friday in preparation for Hurricane Harvey.

In Corpus Christi, where Harvey is projected to make landfall late Friday, 10 HEB stores have closed, or will close late Friday, to ensure the safety of their employees and their customers.

HEB has also closed stores in nearby communities of Aransas Pass, Kingsville, Mathis, Port Lavaca and Rockport.

The stores that are closed now, or will close later Friday on the Gulf Coast include:

  • Corpus Christi (10 stores)
  • Ingleside
  • Mathis
  • Port Lavaca
  • Aransas Pass
  • Edna
  • Kenedy (Closing at 7 p.m.)
  • Kingsville
  • Refugio
  • Rockport
  • Cuero (Closing at 3 p.m.)
  • Robstown
  • Portland
  • Sinton
  • Beeville (Closing at 3 p.m.)
  • Yoakum (Closing at 7 p.m.

In the Houston area, the HEB store in Bay City is closed, while curbside services in many Houston area store is closed until after Harvey passes.

After Harvey has passed, HEB will determine the extent of any damages before they reopen the stores to the public. HEB urges their customers to follow them on Facebook or Twitter, or check for the latest information about store closings at heb.com/disaster.

Cutline: HEB stores and other grocers had a run on some supplies. On Thursday, HEB stores ran out of pallets of bottled water at many locations
