Intense Jewelry Store Robbery Caught On Video
The robbery occurred Aug. 20 at the Plaza de America's Shopping Mall.
HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Police Department is searching for four men who robbed a jewelry store Aug. 20 in West Houston. The robbery occurred at 1:58 p.m. at the J.D. Jewelry Inc. store in Plaza de America's Shopping Mall, HPD wrote on YouTube.
The men can be seen on surveillance video bursting into the store and breaking the display cases with sledgehammers to remove jewelry. As this was happening, an employee attempted to stop the suspects and was punched in the face and kicked while on the ground, HPD wrote.
The employee suffered a broken jaw and a fracture to his left eye bone. Once the suspects had the jewelry, they ran back to the mall parking lot and into a red hatchback SUV, possibly a Nissan Juke, HPD said.
