Marriott Murder-Suicide: Victim, Shooter Had Dating Relationship

The identities of the victim and the shooter involved in the Houston shooting have not been released because families haven't been notified.

HOUSTON, TX — The victim and shooter in a murder-suicide at the Marriott Marquis hotel Tuesday in downtown Houston were in a dating relationship, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to authorities, witnesses saw the pair arrive at the hotel together and heard a gunshot before seeing the gunman shoot himself.

Houston police say the victim was a 27-year-old white woman, and the shooter was a 39-year-old African American man. The identities of the deceased have not been released because families have yet to be notified by authorities.

The shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, and Houston police officers found the two bodies in the lobby of the hotel shortly after.
