Mayde Creek FFA Helps Rebuild Greenhouse For Elementary Students

KATY, TX — Stanley Elementary students are now enjoying a new greenhouse thanks to Mayde Creek High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) students.
Last spring, a severe thunderstorm completely destroyed the structure where various science experiments were being housed.

However, the FFA students sprung into action with the assistance of several Katy ISD departments.
The Risk Management Department provided assistance to purchase the needed materials, which allowed students to begin designing and building a larger framework with steel tubing.

The Maintenance and Operations Department worked hand in hand with the students to provide the finishing touches.
Collaboration among these groups ended with the successful completion of this project, along with a cost saving to the campus.
