NFL 2017 Draft: The First Round Is In The Books
The Houston Texans made a bold move to move up and draft their franchise quarterback, while the Cowboys focused on drafting defense.

The first round of the 2017 NFL Draft is in the books, and by some accounts, it was a wild one.
The Houston Texans made a huge move for the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, moving up 13 spots from 25 to 12 to draft Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.
It was the most aggressive move the Texans have ever made in their short existence as a franchise.

Thus, the Cleveland Browns, who have made collecting and trading for draft picks for the last three years an art form, own the Houston Texans 2018 first and second round picks.
Some pundits have been critical of the move, but when you consider the quarterback carousel that has been something of the norm in Houston since former quarterback Matt Schaub imploded in 2013, most agree the move had to be made.

Meanwhile, the Browns used the 25th pick to acquire Jabrill Peppers, who will make a solid contribution to the secondary.
The Dallas Cowboys did as most predicted and focused on building a formidable defense, drafting defensive end Taco Charlton with the 28th pick, and passing on T.J Watt who was drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Charlton, who stands 6-feet 6 -inches and comes in at 277 pounds, likely won’t evolve immediately into an All-Pro pass rusher, but in time, he could become one of the best at his position.
Rounds two and three get underway in Philadelphia Friday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, followed by rounds four through seven on Saturday afternoon.
