Flash Flood Watch For Houston Area: Overnight Storms Cause Flooding In Brazoria, Fort Bend Counties
Rain is in the forecast all day, with flooding expected in some areas causing periodic road closures

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a flash flood watch until 4 p.m Tuesday for residents in Fort Bend, Jackson, Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston, Liberty, Colorado, Austin, Waller, Harris, Chambers and Wharton counties.
Officials with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported high water at Interstate 69 and FM 762 in Richmond, and have closed that area to traffic.
Overnight storms in Danbury, in Brazoria County, dumped nearly a foot of rain, causing some flooding in the area.

Meanwhile, rainfall totals for the past 24 hours in Harris County range from 0.25 to 0.75 inches which hasn’t affected any of the creeks or bayous.

Rain will be steady and heavy at times Tuesday morning, and slowly breaking down this afternoon. Localized street flooding is possible, with isolated showers expected in the afternoon.
