Party-Goer Puts On Bulletproof Vest And Is Shot To Death: Police
Homicide Sgt. Mark Hollbrook says it's unusual for people to put on body armor and play with guns at a party, but noted it does happen.

HOUSTON, TX — Police are investigating after a man put on a bulletproof vest at a party in Houston and was shot to death by a fellow party-goer. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on the 300 block of West 23rd Street in the Greater Heights neighborhood.
The building was described as a garage apartment. Click 2 Houston reported a gun was found at the scene.
Police think six to eight people were at the party. They have not caught the gunman and it wasn't immediately clear if the bullet traveled through the vest or if it struck an uncovered area.

It's not normal for people to put on body armor and play with guns at a party, said city Homicide Sgt. Mark Hollbrook, but he noted "these things happen sometimes."
The name of the victim wasn't immediately disclosed.
