Pasadena Man Charged With Ex-Girlfriend’s Murder

PASADENA, TX — A Pasadena man who tried to kill himself after shooting his ex-girlfriend to death is charged with her murder.

Police said the ex-boyfriend shot 43-year old Laura Perales was to death in the 400 block of Yorkshire Avenue at about 1 p.m. on Monday, and then ran.

When police arrived at the home, they found Perales alive and rushed her to a nearby hospital where she later died. (Want to get daily news updates and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Pasadena Patch morning newsletter.)

Through their investigation, police learned that Perales’ ex-boyfriend lived her home and sent investigators to the 400 block of Glenmoore Drive, where he’d barricaded himself.

As SWAT officers were setting up a perimeter in the neighborhood, they heard a single gunshot and rushed the home where they found the man with a single gunshot wound to the head, the Houston Chronicle reported.

He was taken by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where his condition is unknown.

Police have not yet released the name of the ex-boyfriend.
