Pasadena Man Charged With Ex-Girlfriend’s Murder
Ex-Boyfriend shoots himself during a brief stand-off with SWAT officers, hours after he shot his ex-girlfriend to death.

PASADENA, TX — A Pasadena man who tried to kill himself after shooting his ex-girlfriend to death is charged with her murder.
Police said the ex-boyfriend shot 43-year old Laura Perales was to death in the 400 block of Yorkshire Avenue at about 1 p.m. on Monday, and then ran.

Through their investigation, police learned that Perales’ ex-boyfriend lived her home and sent investigators to the 400 block of Glenmoore Drive, where he’d barricaded himself.
As SWAT officers were setting up a perimeter in the neighborhood, they heard a single gunshot and rushed the home where they found the man with a single gunshot wound to the head, the Houston Chronicle reported.

He was taken by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where his condition is unknown.
Police have not yet released the name of the ex-boyfriend.
