Person Killed In Gulf Freeway Hit-And-Run: Police

Police said the hit-and-run happened early Sunday morning.

From Houston PD: Houston police are investgating the fatal crash that occurred at 4034 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:20 a.m. on Sunday (December 1).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Maness and Officer H. Nguyen reported:

The victim, believed to be a black pedestrian of unknown gender, attempted to cross the freeway at the above address and was struck by a vehicle of unknown make and model. The vehicle the fled the scene.

A short time later the drivers of a black Toyota Corrolla and a white Lincoln Navigator, both traveling southbound on the Gulf Freeway, also struck the victim. Both vehicles pulled over nearby and called police. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Lincoln and the Toyota were questioned and released.
