PODS® Houston Serves as Santa’s Sleigh for KBR’s Operation Stocking Stuffer Shopping Spree, Dec. 7

Moving and storage leader will pack and transport toys purchased by KBR for Houston's largest holiday drive

On Dec. 7, PODS® Houston will serve as Santa’s Sleigh by packing, storing, and transporting 20 shopping carts full of toys from the Operation Stocking Stuffer (OSS) shopping spree sponsored by KBR and hosted by Target Houston Central. Houston-based KBR, a global engineering, procurement, and construction firm, has donated $10,000 to OSS to support the highly visual and festive shopping spree, which is crucial to the success of the city’s largest holiday drive. OSS is expected to provide over 300,000 toys to approximately 4,400 families this holiday season.

The PODS ® Houston team will join members of the Houston Fire Department, overseen by HFD Chaplain Garry Blackmon, and KBR’s Principal of Corporate Communications and Government Relations, Philip Ivy, as they race through the popular retail store and select toys, clothing, and accessories to add to the thousands of items donated by the public between now and Dec. 21. The PODS® “sleigh” stationed outside the store will await the overflowing carts and then be loaded for transport.

At the Dec. 21 distribution event, numerous PODS containers will serve as a “rooms” for toys sorted by age group and gender. Thousands of families, many of whom will get in line as early as the night before, will wind their way through the PODS containers and receive toys for the holidays. Members of the community are encouraged to visit a PODS® container collection point at their neighborhood fire station and donate to the city’s largest holiday drive.
