Police Investigate after Body found in a Plastic Container

Neighbors, Hotel Guest Reported seeing a Man Struggle to Carry a Plastic Container that had a Dead Body inside.

SPRING, TX -- Law enforcement officials are looking for a man who they believe may have something to do with a body discovered stuffed in a plastic container outside of a Northwest side motel.

Criminal investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were called to the Champions Lodge on the 4700 block of FM 1960 west just after 6 p.m. Thursday night, after receiving a report that a man was seen carrying a plastic container with a body inside.

Investigators later found the body of a man wrapped in a blanket inside the container.

Meanwhile, neighbors living near the Champions Lodge Motel are a little shaken up knowing that a murder could have take place there.

"I did see the dude, he had the green tote, like a green-looking tote I won't put nothing past him maybe he was doing his laundry too, but when I came back out to check on my laundry he was asking another dude to help him with the tote," Casandra Whittington told KPRC.

Some witness reports indicated two men were seen carrying the tote, which backed up Whittingtonโ€™s claim.

Just hours after investigators found the body, deputies went door to door speaking with neighbors and gathering information important to the investigation.

Demarcus Washington, who lives next to the motel, said he saw the same two men who allegedly carried the container arguing a few days earlier.

"It's had me shaken up because I wouldn't expect the same two dudes that I saw walk in and out of this hotel every single day end up doing something like that. It's just strange," Washington said.

Authorities have not identified a motive or possible suspect, though they did detain a person of interest, according to news reports. A motel resident said police searched rooms there.

Police are reviewing surveillance video and are searching for a person who they believe is involved.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
