Police Searching For Suspect in 2016 Murder

Mercedes McDonald has been connected to and is wanted for a murder that was committed in March 2016. CrimeStoppers is offering a $5K reward

HOUSTON, TX — Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division need the public's assistance in locating fugitive Mercedes McDonald, who is wanted for the felony offense of murder.

On March 5, 2016, at approximately 11:35 p.m., police found a dead body in the back of a burning truck located in the 5000 block of South Acres Drive.

During their investigation, police determined that McDonald was the last person to see the victim alive.

Investigators also learned that McDonald helped Jason Gates in the robbery, assault, and murder of the victim on March 5, 2016, in the 5800 block of Schevers Street.

McDonald, 28, is a black female, approximately 5'6", 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Her hair may be worn in braids or cut short.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of McDonald in this case.
