Power Grid: ERCOT Launches Dashboard To Track Current Conditions
As ERCOT announces the Texas power grid is prepared for winter, it has set up a dashboard that gives updated grid and market conditions.
TEXAS — As the Energy Reliability Council of Texas finishes its monitoring of winterization efforts on the Texas power grid, it is providing a tool for Texans to monitor grid and market conditions.
ERCOT recently launched grid and market conditions dashboards that show near live updates on a variety of metrics, including supply and demand, energy reserves and real-time prices by location.
The dashboards are timestamped with their last update and include a full view option that explains the graph and metrics provided.

As it was, millions of Texans were without power for days as the grid experienced intense strain under the winter conditions. Over 200 people died during the storm and subsequent power outages.
ERCOT has been monitoring winterization efforts for power generation units and transmission facilities and recently passed 321 of 324 energy facilities on their inspections in its final winterization report, proclaiming the grid ready for winter.
“The Texas electric grid is more prepared for winter operations than ever before,” Interim ERCOT CEO Brad Jones said in a news release Tuesday.
