Houston Preschoolers Conduct Candy Experiments

Pint-Sized Scientists Turn Classroom into Lab

Preschoolers at The Goddard School located in Houston on Barker Cypress Road recently took a unique, and delicious, approach to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) learning. Set to the theme of "Candy Land," The Goddard School's Science Fair Open House featured a variety of projects and experiments that included:

  • Discovering what happens to Skittles when placed in water, vinegar, seltzer, water and milk
  • Graphing gumballs
  • Building structures using toothpicks and gumdrops
  • Painting masterpieces with bubblegum scented paint

The Goddard School's Science Fair Open House helps students build a foundation and passion for STEAM learning while developing key 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.

The Goddard School organizes many events throughout the year that help to build connections and relationships within their schools and community.
