Security Enhanced At NRG, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion After Manchester Bombing

HOUSTON, TX — Several high profile local venues are increasing their security in the wake of Monday’s bombing in Manchester, England that killed 22 people and injured 59.

On Tuesday, John Legend will be playing at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and ticket holders should plan to arrive early.

According to a Houston Chronicle report, those who are planning to attend the concert can expect to see a strong security presence and will be subjected to bag searches, with bags and backpacks no larger than 8.5 x 11 prohibited.

Meanwhile NRG Stadium will host U2 Wednesday night, and ticket holders can also come early, and expect long lines and bag searches as they all pass through security.

KPRC reported that there will be extra security at NRG and that the McNee Street entrance to the stadium will be closed.

Backpacks and large bags that exceed 11”x17” are not allowed inside NRG stadium. Necessary diaper bags and medical bags are subject to inspection before entry.
