Severe Weather Spawns Tornado in Fort Bend County

The National Weather Services confirmed that a tornado touched down near Katy at about 3 p.m. Sunday: Reports

KATY, TX — The National Weather Services has confirmed that a tornado touched down on Sunday afternoon in an area west of Houston, near Katy.

Officials with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported some minor damages in the area, according to a Houston Chronicle report.

According to a KTRK report, a funnel cloud was spotted shortly before the tornado touched down near Firethorne at about 3 p.m.

More rain, possible severe weather, and possible flash flooding are possible as another wave of heavy rain moves through the Greater Houston area Sunday night through early Monday morning.
