Son Of U.S. Congressman John Conyers Reported Missing in Houston
Carl Conyers was last seen by his roommate and girlfriend at his apartment.

HOUSTON, TX — Authorities are looking for clues in the disappearance of the son of a U.S. congressman who went missing Wednesday in Houston.
Carl Conyers, 21, who is a student at the University of Houston, was last seen on Tuesday at his apartment by his roommate in the 3700 block of Southmore Bouelvard.
Conyers' father, John Conyers, is a Democratic lawmaker representing Michigan’s 13th Congressional District and is currently the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives.

Conyers' girlfriend, Daisha Lewis, said she last saw him Tuesday when he went into his room in his apartment and closed the door. Lewis, 20, told the Houston Chronicle that she'd asked his friends if they'd heard from Conyers, but no one had for several hours.
She told investigators that when she went into her boyfriend's room on Wednesday, it was a mess, there was a backpack full of clothes, and his cell phone and an envelope full of family pictures were in his room.

She also noted that his bicycle and his car were also still at his apartment.
Several of Conyers' friends have received private messages from a person purporting to be Conyers since his disappearance, but no one has seen him.
The Houston Police Department, the FBI and the Secret Service are assisting in the investigation.
Texas Equusearch, which as worked with authorities on a number of other high-profile missing persons cases, will also be assisting in the search and canvassing.
Conyers is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The photos depict Conyers with facial hair, but his friends indicate he shaved his beard before his disappearance.
