Stormy Weather Arrives In Time For Tuesday Evening Rush Hour

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are coming to Houston this evening and will hang around until about midnight.

HOUSTON, TX — The sun may be out right now, but things will be changing this afternoon when a band of storms rolls through the Houston area, just in time for the evening commute.

Temperatures are expected to reach the 80s in Houston ahead of the stormy weather, with storms impacting north of the Houston area by 5 p.m.

Last week, the Houston area was hit with about 24 hours of stormy weather that spawned tornadoes, as well as minor street flooding and flooding along several creeks.

The storms are predicted to impact residents between Austin and just east of Beaumont, and north of Madisonville to the Texas gulf coast between 8 p.m. until at least midnight.

The storms will clear out of the Houston area before Wednesday morning and bring cooler temperatures for the remainder of the week.
