Suspect Charged With Murder Following Death Of 38-Year-Old Man

HOUSTON, TX -- The Houston Police Department has charged a 19-year-old man with murder following the death of a man Saturday in southeast Houston. Suspect Matthew Mendoza allegedly shot and killed a 38-year-old man at 800 75th Street around 12:30 a.m., HPD wrote in a news release.

Mendoza and the victim had gotten into an argument about a vehicle an some point, Mendoza pulled a pistol and fatally shot the man, HPD wrote. Mendoza was taken into custody without incident and subsequently charged.
