There's plenty happening in the Metro Houston area, and it's a good bet it's in your neighborhood.

HOUSTON, TX -- If you’re bored, you’re just not trying hard enough. There’s plenty happening in the Metro Houston area, and it’s a good bet it’s in your neighborhood.

Last weekend was the start of festival season in the Houston area, which means there's a little something for everyone that is nearly always free, and most definitely fun.

Sugar Land Wine and Food Affair: April 5 -April 1: The Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair is where top chefs share secrets, sommeliers get uncorked and all manner of foodies from bonafide gourmands to everyday eaterscome to indulge in fantastic fare, sensational spirits and some of the finest wines around. The festival consists of five days of notable events, all of which take place in bustling Sugar Land, just 15 minutes from Houston proper.

The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival: The Woodlands, TX April 7-9: Transformed for 3 days- April 7, 8 & 9, The Waterway and Town Green Park will host a celebration of breathtaking art, toe-tapping Texas music, and delicious food & drink. 37th Annual Good Oil Days Festival: Humble, TX April 8: The City of Humble and the Humble Senior Activity Center are proud to present the 37th Annual Good Oil Days Festival. This will be a fantastic event with Arts & Crafts, good food, and plenty of fun and the famous senior plant sale! Proceeds will benefit the Humble Area Seniors. Booth Fees, Donations and In Kind Services are Tax Deductible. The Festival begins on Saturday morning, April 8th, 2017. Vendor booths will be located on five blocks of Main Street Humble filled with plenty of things to look at and to buy.

Tomball Bunny Run: Tomball, TX April 8: Bunny Run is the City's annual 5K run and 1-mile family walk through downtown Tomball. Call 281-351-5484 for details before March 1, 2017. After March 1 you may register at racesonline.com. Prizes for best "blinged-out bunny ears". Music, mascot dash, vendors and more.

2nd Saturday at the Depot: Tomball, TX: April 8, 2017, 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Tomball's historic downtown Depot. 2nd Saturday at the Depot is a family oriented event held on the second Saturday of every month. From themed arts and crafts, to games, music and a movie under the stars on the giant inflatable screen, 2nd Saturday is fun for the entire family. This month's movie is "Norm of the North".

3rd Annual Heads N Tails Crawfish Festival: Houston, TX April 9 -10: Houston's biggest crawfish festival is back, Sunday April 9th, at Grooves of Houston. Come enjoy succulent boiled crawfish and other foods including boudin, turkey legs, sausage on a stick, funnel cakes & more. Louisiana's own DJ Mannie Fresh and the Texas trio of DJ HI-C, DJ Jack Frost, and DJ Young Streetz are sure to keep you dancing the day and night away.
