Houston Firefigher is One of Two Killed in Head-on Crash in Waller
DPS believe pickup truck blew tire, crossed median and hit SUV head-on.

Updated story 4:20 p.m.: Authorities have identified one of the people killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 10 Friday morning as a Houston Firefighter.
Jason D. Hamilton, who a member of the Houston Fire Department, was driving a black pickup truck on I-10 east when authorities believe he blew a tire, lost control and slid across the median into oncoming traffic, hitting an SUV head-on.
Hamilton, 43, and the driver of the SUV were killed in the accident.

Original Story: WALLER, TX --A head-on crash on Interstate 10 westbound killed two people, injured a third and snarled traffic in both directions for several hours on Friday.
Investigators with the Department of Public Safety said that the accident happened at about 10 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Peach Ridge.

Investigators said that a pickup that was traveling in the eastbound lanes toward Houston experienced a blown tire, lost control of his vehicle and crossed the grassy median into westbound traffic and hit an SUV head-on.
The driver of the pickup and one of the occupants in the SUV were killed.
Another person in the SUV was critically injured and flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight.
The condition of the injured person is unknown.
