Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged In Fatal Shooting At 6200 Beechnut Street
Jonathan Soto, 25, is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Mauricio Ayala, 20.

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 6200 Beechnut Street about 8:55 p.m. on Sept.7, 2019.

The suspect, Jonathan Soto (H/m, 25), is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Mauricio Ayala, 20.
HPD Homicide Division Officers K. Clark and J. Pickett reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above intersection of Beechnut at Bissonnet Street. Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Ayala with multiple gunshot wounds inside his vehicle. Ayala was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Further investigation identified Soto as the suspect in this case. Soto, who is in custody on an unrelated charge, was subsequently charged on Feb. 13 for his role in the shooting.
