Here are the top stories in Houston today:
- A woman who broke into a Jewish synagogue through a window and spilled wine on the holy Torah has been sentenced to house arrest. The woman in question was found face down in the synagogue's pulpit wearing a wine-stained rabbi's robe. She is currently being held on $10,000 bond after prosecutors failed to convince jurists that she should be held without bond. In social media posts the woman posted, she threatened the lives of synagogue leaders as well as constituents. However, these posts were not allowed to be entered as evidence in the case. Over 170 people were watching the court proceedings online before judges cut access to the feed in fear of viewer hijinks. (Houston Chronicle)
- A huge drug bust at a warehouse in northwest Houston led to the arrest of four individuals. In total, police seized 17 pounds of fentanyl precursors, 1 kilo of counterfeit Xanax pills w/suspected fentanyl, 2 kilos of cocaine, 44 pounds of marijuana, at least one stolen vehicle, multiple firearms, and 3 pill press machines. The large amount of counterfeit or "fake" drugs laced with alternatives that were found in the bust speak to the malevolence of these individuals. All of those arrested are now being charged with felony weapons and drugs possession. (KHOU.com)
- Social media channels are overflowing with talks of color analysis which is a process by which people can find the best color palettes for their wardrobe, jewelry, and more. According to color analysis proponents, failing to match your dress with your proper color palette can lead to your appearance feeling "off." The science of color analysis goes all the way back to the 1980s. In a nutshell, color analysis isn't about telling people that they can't wear certain colors. Instead, it's about identifying the proper color tones that match best with an individual's skin tone, hair color, eyes, and more. (KPRC Click2Houston)
