Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 3098 North Loop East ((North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 2:30 a.m. today (Nov. 15).

The victim, Grecia Hernandez, 32, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Williams and B. Salazar reported:

Ms. Hernandez was driving on the 610 North Loop East near Wallisville Road when several gunshots were heard. Her male passenger asked Hernandez if she heard the shots. When he looked over at her, the male realized Hernandez had been shot in the head. The male managed to take control of the vehicle and pull over to the shoulder of the freeway. He then called 911. Paramedics arrived and transported Hernandez to the hospital.

At this time, there is no known suspect(s) or motive in the shooting.
