Woman Dies Of Exposure After Wandering Away From Her Home
Investigators believe the 82-year old woman, who suffered from dementia, wandered from her home and died of exposure to the cold.

CROSBY, TX — Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office believe the discovery of a woman’s body Wednesday could be another weather-related death.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 400 block of Dreamland in east Harris County at about 10:20 a.m. for a missing person’s report.
Deputies were told by family members of the 82-year-old woman who lived at the home that they had stopped by to check on her and that she was not in her home.

The woman suffers from dementia and needs daily care.
Deputies searched the area around her home, and found her body a short distance away in a wooded area behind her home.

EMS services were called to the scene, and they pronounced the woman dead.
Investigators believe the woman walked away from her home and was in the wood line where she succumbed to the cold temperatures and exposure.
The Institute of Forensic Science will determine cause of death.
