Here are the top stories today in Houston:

  1. Houston Astros World Series 2022 collectibles began flying off of the shelves on Saturday night, but memorabilia completionists will need to purchase three separate versions of the Houston Chronicle. In celebration of the Astros win, the Houston Chronicle printed three different front pages with their best pictures from the event. Home delivery subscribers will receive one of the three papers. All three papers are available for purchase as a bundle or as singles on the Houston Chronicle website while supplies last. Collectors can purchase copies during normal business hours through Tuesday, Nov. 8. (KTRK-TV)
  2. Conseulo Ramírez may not be a citizen herself just yet, but that hasn't stopped her from ferrying eligible seniors to the polls for nearly 30 years. Ramírez, 57, helps dozens of elderly incapable of driving get to the polls by giving them a ride in the early morning before attending her day job as a domestic worker. Her passion for politics stems from her day job, as she explained, "We don't have rights. It's us, domestic workers, who clean the house, who take care of seniors… who care for children. We continue to be invisible in this country and even more in this state." Ramírez also mentioned that her passion for voting doesn't just rear its head in the public eye. Speaking about her adult children, she said, "If you don't make it to vote, forget it. You're not going to see any tacos from mom." (Houston Chronicle)
  3. The Houston Arcade Expo takes place this weekend at the Marriott Westchase where more than 200 free to play arcade and pinball machines will be placed on display. The event celebrates its 21st birthday this year thanks to the continued generosity of local arcade enthusiasts with stellar collections. Manager of the event Keith Christensen said, "I think there's a kind of romance with the cabinet. It's bigger and a physical object. You lose that by just downloading everything. That's the sacrifice we pay for convenience." On top of arcade and pinball machines, the convention will also feature a number of early PC and console games as well as a concert from New Orleans rock band Consortium of Genius. (Houston Chronicle)
  4. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden made a number of stops in Houston in order to encourage voters to hit the polls. Dr. Biden joined Harris county Judge Lina Hidalgo as they visited a number of local churches and community centers in Third Ward. However, a Republican political strategist says that the tour was a move made out of desperation due to low voter turnout in comparison to 2018's midterm election. (KHOU.com)
  5. Thanksgiving day is hectic enough without having to prepare a feast for the whole family, so check out these Houston restaurant options that will be open to celebrate. Italian restaurant Roma in Rice Village will be offering a Thanksgiving plate at $59 a person with roasted turkey, green bean casserole, yams, mashed potatoes, butternut squash soup, salad, and dessert. Bosscat Kitchen & Libations in River Oaks is serving a family-style dinner at $60 a person where you can enjoy maple-bourbon brined turkey, brown sugar baked ham, or prime rib roast in tandem with all the Thanksgiving sides you dream about all year. Lastly, Indianola in Eado will be hosting Thanksgiving with a cajun spin at $65 a head. Book your reservation now before these tasty options become as full as your stomach soon will be.
