Skeletal Remains Found In Houston Heights Home
Man who was moving into a new home finds human remains hidden in an attic crawl space; plans to stay in the home.

HOUSTON, TX -- A man who recently moved into a home in the Heights got a bit of a scare after he discovered human remains hidden inside a crawl space in the attic.
The skeletal remains were found Saturday in a home located in the 600 block of Alston, near 6th Street.
Police said the man was moving items into the attic and noticed a gap and a loose board in some plywood.

The man said he moved the board and shined a light inside, and saw what looked like skeletal remains.

He immediately called police, who had to remove sheetrock from the kitchen wall to take the body from the home.
Officials said a woman who lived in the home previously was reported missing in September 2015 after not being seen or heard from since February 2015.
The woman is listed in the national missing persons database.
The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the identity of the body.
Meanwhile, the new tenant said he intends to stay in the home.
