Spring Branch Student Arrested For Hacking School Computer System To Change Grades

District: Memorial HS sophomore hacked computer to change grades using a stolen password; charged fee to other students to change grades

HOUSTON, TX -- A Spring Branch ISD sophomore is facing criminal charges after officials said the student hacked into the computer system at Memorial High School to change grades.

The student, who was arrested March 31, was charged with breach of computer security, a state jail felony, officials said.

Spring Branch ISD officials said the student used a stolen password to change his grades, and then offered a fee to students to change their grades.

District officials said the investigation revealed that only one student paid the student to change their grades.

Since the student is a juvenile, no other information is available.
