Woman, 91, Dies Thursday Night After Hit-and-Run Accident

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Police Department is asking the public to help identify the driver of a vehicle that struck a 91-year-old woman Thursday night on Heights Boulevard, according to media reports. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Heights Boulevard and 15th Street, KPRC-TV Channel 2 reported. The woman had just gotten off a bus when the vehicle struck her and drove away, according to the police.

The police described the vehicle as a white SUV, Channel 2 reported.

The woman was transported in critical condition to Memorial Hermann hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery, but she later died, according to Channel 2.

The police said they believe the driver lives nearby, the Houston Chronicle reported. The police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
