• Humble ISD elementary placed on secure perimeter due to police activity (houstonchronicle.com) — Parents in Humble ISD should know Bear Branch Elementary went into a secure-perimeter status Thursday morning while police served a warrant nearby, closing Garden Lake Drive and rerouting drop-off to the back entrance. Classes continued indoors as normal, but no visitors were allowed in and all outdoor activities were paused until authorities lifted the precaution.
   

• Women's Golf Unveils 2026-27 Schedule (smumustangs.com) — SMU women's golf will bring two collegiate tournaments to Humble this February: the Member Invitational on Feb. 8 and The Chevron Collegiate on Feb. 22–23. Local fans can watch a nationally ranked program compete close to home as the Mustangs tune up for conference play, NCAA Regionals, and a potential return to the national championships.
