ATASCOCITA, TX — A man accused of shooting his boyfriend to death in their home on Sunday night, turned himself in at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Devon Wade, 28, was shot to death after arguing with 29-year old Mario Jerrell Williams earlier in the day, according to investigators.

Williams has been charged with Wade’s murder and is in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Investigators said that Williams and Wade had argued earlier on Sunday, and that Wade had asked Williams to leave, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Williams left, but returned later that evening to pick up some personal items, and was confronted by Wade, who allegedly blocked him from leaving the home.

Williams told investigators that he and Wade began fighting when he went back to the home, and that when he tried to leave Wade blocked the door with his body, and then lunged at him, KPRC reported.

Earlier this year, Wade was the subject of a profile report on KPRC that spotlighted a successful program at M.B Smiley High School called No More Victims, that helps children of incarcerated parents.

As a result, Wade used the tools from that program and the love of the grandparents who took him in, and graduated with honors from Louisiana State University several years later.
