Burglars Take Advantage of Christmas Store Closures and Hit 5 HEB Grocery Stores

Police find trash bag of prescription drugs in parking lot of Kingwood store.

KINGWOOD, TX -- Burglars took advantage of the Christmas holiday by breaking into as many as five H-E-B stores in the Greater Houston area early on Christmas morning.

One of those stores was the newest H-E-B store at West Lake Houston Parkway and Kingwood Drive, which opened this summer.

H-E-B officials said the burglars got into each of the five stores by breaking out the glass of one of the windows each time.
