Crews Begin Panel Replacement On Kingwood Drive

HOUSTON, TX — Crews from the city City of Houston's Public Works and Engineering Department started a dual panel replacement project at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Chestnut Ridge, Thursday morning.

Construction began working in the westbound inside curb lane of Kingwood Drive at Chestnut Ridge at about 9 a.m, and after that panel replacement is complete the construction will move to the westbound outside gutter lane of Kingwood Drive at Chestnut Ridge officials from Council member Dave Martin’s Office said.

In order to complete this project as soon as possible, crews will be on site on Saturday, June 17. Kingwood Drive is expected to have both westbound lane repairs at Chestnut Ridge completed by 5:00 p.m. on June 23, weather permitting.

At least one westbound lane will remain open at all times, however intermittent delays are expected during construction.

As a result, Martin has alerted the Houston Police Department's Kingwood Substation and asked for assistance with traffic mitigation when possible.

Additionally, traffic control measures are in place on site including traffic barrels, traffic cones, directional signage and flagmen.
