Dayton ISD Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges

HUMBLE, TX — A Dayton ISD music teacher accused of sharing child pornography on an online website was arrested by investigators with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office on Wednesday.

Joshua Janecka, 31, was arrested at his home in Humble after investigators determine he'd had been electronically sharing and storing images of Child Pornography on his computer.

Officials received the tip about Janecka from a Microsoft cyber tip, and information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Janecka's online activities, KTRK reported..

When they searches his home, investigators found hundreds of images, literature, and videos of children being sexually exploited and sexually assaulted.

Investigators also seized his computer from Dr. E.R. Richteer Elementary in Dayton ISD for a forensic analysis.

Dayton ISD released the following statement:

"Dayton ISD was notified of an arrest in Harris County of a Richter Elementary teacher. We are fully cooperating with their investigation. We have placed the teacher on administrative leave while their investigation continues..."

Dayton ISD officials said Janecka, a first year educator, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Officials said Janecka has also ben associated with Boy Scouts of America and worked as a swim instructor for children for several years.

“As a result of the child pornography recovered at his home, Joshua Janecka was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Promotion of Child Pornography,” Constable Mark Herman said.

Janeck's bail is set at $22,000.
