Device Causes Evacuation of Kingwood Movie Theater

KINGWOOD, TX -- A device used to monitor the operation of a natural gas meter, caused a scare at a local movie theater, and resulted in an evacuation.

Investigators said employees at the ShowBiz Movie Theater saw the device attached to the gas meter at the theater and alerted the manager.

At the same time, two box trucks were seen near the theater, and the manager made the call to evacuate the theater and called police.

Police arrived and discovered one of the box trucks was reported stolen, and the device was a tool used to measure operations of the gas meter.
