Humble Marine Killed Helping Woman After Rollover Accident

Marine and his fiancée were headed to LAX when they saw the accident, and stopped to help.

HUMBLE TX -- A U.S. Marine from the Humble area was killed Monday in California while trying to help a woman who’d been involved in a rollover accident on Interstate 10.

Staff Sgt. Enrico Rojo, 29, and his fiancée were driving to Los Angeles International Airport so the couple catch their flight to Houston for Christmas, when they saw the accident and stopped to help the woman.

According to the California Highway Patrol, when Rojo was helping the woman, he was hit by another car that tried to avoid him.

Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and tried to help Rojo.

Meanwhile, the driver that officers believed to be involved in the original crash was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence
