Lone Star College-Kingwood Delays Start Of School

LSC-Kingwood, plans a Sept. 25 start after heavy rain from Hurricane Harvey inundated the San Jacinto River and flooded parts of the campus.

KINGWOOD, TX — All Lone Star College locations, except the LSC-Kingwood campus, will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at our regular hours. The LSC-Kingwood campus will remain closed due to the extensive flood damage and reopen at a later date. LSC will continue to update the status of LSC-Kingwood and all LSC locations at Lonestar.edu.

Lone Star College-Kingwood suffered extensive damages to its facilities due to Hurricane Harvey. Classes will start the week of Sept. 25 at LSC-Atascocita Center and at the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) Complex in New Caney. Most courses will be converted to either online or hybrid (combination of online and face-to-face class meetings) classes. Arrangements will be made with our community partners to house our health care occupation programs and courses that require face-to-face interaction.

If LSC students and employees are unable to return to work due to flood damage, for whatever reasons (childcare or family issues), please contact your professor or supervisor. We will work with employees and students to insure that no one is penalized for events out of their control.
