Man Ambushed, Shot While Meeting Woman From Internet: Police

The victim intended to meet a woman he met online for an undisclosed purchase, police say, when he was ambushed and shot by two men.

CROSBY, TX — A 50-year-old man fell victim to gunshot wounds, reports say, while meeting with a woman to make a purchase facilitated online.

The shooting happened at 700 FM 1942 Rd., when the man a woman to make an exchange around 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

CW39 reported that the man went to the apartment to meet a woman he met online, but there were two men waiting in ambush. He was shot in the abdomen four to six times and was taken by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The man's condition and what he was trying to purchase are both unknown at this point, ABC reports.

Deputies have detained one person of interest, CW39 reports.
