New Caney Man Is Killed, Another Injured In Shooting

NEW CANEY, TX -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another critically injured Sunday morning.

Deputies received a 911 from the 25000 block Lantern Lane near FM 1485 in New Caney at about 3 a.m.

The caller, who was a victim told deputies that he and another person had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found a 20-year old man dead, and a 19-year old man wounded.

The 19--year old, whose injuries were deemed life threatening, was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center, deputies said.

Investigators said that narcotics could have played a role in the shooting.

The names of the victims have not been released, and the cause of the shooting is under investigation.
