Phase One Construction On Woodland Hills Drive In Northeast Harris County Underway

Precinct two will partner with Precinct four on second phase of project, set for early 2017; project will cost $10.6 million total

ATASCOCITA, TX -- Construction crews are working to add additional lanes to Woodland Hills Drive in Atascocita.

Work on the $1.1 million project is being done through the Harris County Precinct 2 Road and Bridge Department, and will expand the two-lane road into a four-lane boulevard, near Beltway 8.

Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Jack Morman said phase one of the project is expected to be finished by the second quarter of 2017.

Phase two, which will begin early next year, will be a joint project between Precinct two and Precinct four, and includes the construction of a new four-lane concrete boulevard from Ridge Creek Elementary heading north to the Atascocita Forest subdivision, as well as the construction of a four-lane bridge over Williams Gully.

The estimated cost of the phase two portion is $9.5 million, and is expected to be complete and open to the Beltway in the fourth quarter of 2017.
