Police Find Missing Teen Safe After High-Speed Chase

An Amber Alert for Priscilla Martinez has been council after she was founded at a truck stop in New Caney with Rudolfo Nuncio

SHEPHERD, TX — A 13-year old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert out of of South Texas has been found safe, following a police chase that ended in San Jacinto County.

Priscilla Martinez was last seen in Hildalgo County on Aug. 13, and was believed to he with a man, identified as 41-year old Rudolfo Nuncio, and according to initial reports, in grave danger.

On Tuesday, police found a silver 2015 Dodge Ram Pickup that was registered to Nuncio outside of a Flying J Truck Stop in New Caney. (Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)

Rudolfo Nuncio

KPRC reported that when Nuncio saw police, he grabbed Martinez, pulled her into the truck and took off, hitting the car of a U.S. Marshal as he got away.

Nuncio led Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies, as well as police from the City of Cleveland and Cleveland ISD on a chase north on Interstate 69 into Liberty County.

Deputies pursued Nuncio for about 20 miles, according to a KHOU report, until he collided with an unmanned Department of Public Safety vehicle head-on.

Nuncio, who is believed to be Martinez’s uncle, was taken into custody.


Both he and Martinez sustained minor injuries in the crash.
