Train Un-Hooks Over San Jacinto River Bridge
Union Pacific Officials believe dip in bridge caused train to separate
HUMBLE, TX -- A Union Pacific train en route to Houston un-coupled while crossing the San Jacinto River bridge in Humble Thursday afternoon.
The locomotive was pulling a line of 73 rail cars at about 2:30 when it crossed over a dip in the track, causing the un-coupling, Union Pacific spokesperson Jeff DeGraff said.
No one was injured and none of the 73 cars derailed from the tracks.

However, the incident did cause the closure of Hamblin Road temporarily while officials inspected the train for any damage.
DeGraff said Union Pacific will be studying the dip and the overall rail structure and begin making the needed repairs.
