Two boys riding their bicycles along Peach Creek are credited with saving the child from drowning. The Roman Forest Police are calling Markuise and Cameron heroes.
Two young boys who were riding their bicycles near the creek, saw the young girl playing on the banks of the creek, and reacted quickly when they saw her fall in the creek.
"They saw the girl playing on the other side of the creek. She tried to swing on a limb," Roman Forest Police Chief Stephen Carlisle said. "She fell in the water and she looked like she was drowning. So one of the boys pulled her out of the water and the other one assisted."

One of the boys then got on his bicycle and rode to find help.
Luckily, he was able to find Ricky Duke, who was in his pickup sending his wife a text message.
The boy told Duke they’d pulled a little girl from the creek and asked him to call 911.
Duke called 911 and ran over to help.
He found the child, wet and cold, and wrapped her in a jacket he’d been wearing.
Police arrived and tried talking with the child, who’d only say that her name was Melody, and couldn’t ay who her parents were.
Melody was taken to Kingwood Medical Center for medical evaluation
Police sent out social media posts with the girl’s photo in an effort to find her parents, and a short time later authorities were contacted her parents.
"We have to keep a close eye on her. She's got autism and we just found out about it. She likes to wander off and do her own things sometimes," Melody’s mother, Melissa Maddox told KPRC said. "I thank the families of the little boys who found her and made sure she didn't get hurt."
Police said they will not file criminal charges at this time, but an investigation is underway.
