Two Children Killed In Saturday Car Crash

Driver of white SUV was driving too fast on wet roads, arrested for suspicion of DWI

HUFFMAN, TX -- Two children were killed Saturday night when the car they were riding in was hit by a driver weaving in out of traffic, according to police.

Police said that the driver of a white SUV was weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed heading westbound on 1960 Road near Grey Fox Road at about 7p.m. Saturday, when he lost control on the wet roadway and spun into oncoming traffic, hitting a red Mazda.

The impact of the crash caused the the Mazda to slam into a red Dodge SUV, according to police.

Two adults and three children in the red Dodge SUV were transported to the hospital, according to authorities.

Police said two girls, 7 and 14 who were passengers in the Dodge SUV, died at the hospital, while a teenage boy and two adults were in serious but stable condition.

The female driver of the Mazda was also taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the white SUV was not injured, but was taken into custody for suspicious of DWI.

Charges in the case are pending.
