Veterans Day 2021: Celebrations In, Near Humble-Kingwood
Here are several tributes and celebrations for Veterans Day in and near the Lake Houston area.
HUMBLE-KINGWOOD, TX — There are plenty of ways for Humble and Kingwood area residents to join with Americans all over the country in celebrating the sacrifices all current and former members of the U.S. military have made this Veterans Day.
There are several events in and near the Lake Houston area Thursday in recognition of veterans.

Creekwood Middle School Veterans Day Service
Creekwood Middle School in Kingwood invites the public to a Veterans Day program at 5 p.m. Thursday. U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Republican from Texas' 2nd Congressional District, will speak at the event. The program will conclude at the Veterans Honor Garden with a candlelight vigil and the playing of Taps.
Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration
The traditional Veterans Day ceremony will be held at City Hall at 10 a.m. Thursday with acknowledgements of local heroes and a keynote speaker. A moment of silence will be observed at 11 a.m. to mark the 101st anniversary of the Armistice, which ended World War I.

The American Heroes Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Dallas and Bagby, and proceed through the downtown area. Local veteran organizations, ROTC and Junior ROTCs, bands and supporters will march in the parade. This parade is open to the public and are welcomed along the parade route.
Klein ISD Veterans Day Ceremony
Klein ISD will host a salute to veterans and the armed forces at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Klein Memorial Stadium in Spring. For those that can't make it, Klein ISD will host a livestream on its website. A grab-and-go brunch will be available after the ceremony.
Spring ISD Veterans Day Breakfast
The Spring ISD Ministerial Alliance is preparing a Veterans Day breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Randall Reed Center at Planet Ford Stadium in Spring.
The Woodlands Veterans Day Tribute
The Woodlands Township invites the public to Town Green Park for its Veterans Day Tribute at 4 p.m. Thursday, featuring a presentation of colors, musical performances, Our Community Salutes ceremony and keynote speaker Lt. Col. Sam Kim of the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion in Houston. A special military care package drop-off booth will be set up during the Veterans Day Tribute to accept donations of recommended items for servicemembers.
