🌱Arlington Garage Fire Injures Man + Irving PD Scrutinized

Here are the top five stories today in Irving:

  1. A man was seriously burned in a parking garage fire near UT Arlington early Friday, January 21. Emergency workers responded to the garage following reports of loud noises that turned out to be car fires. They were able to put out the fires and transfer the man to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The cause of the car fires is unknown at this time. (FOX 4 Dallas)
  2. The City of Irving issued a traffic alert for next week: Expect closures on SH 114 and Spur 482 overnight on January 24, beginning at 9:00 PM. The roadway will reopen at January 25 at 5:00 AM. Click over to the Press Release Desk to get the details about the project.
  3. The Irving Police Department has been accused of disproportionate use of force on Black suspects, reports the Irving Weekly. The accusations were brought forth by Accountable Now based on data from 2017-2019. Irving Police have yet to respond. See the numbers for yourself by visiting the article.
