Here are the top stories today in Irving:

  1. Need an animal fix? DFW Child offers a list of the best zoos in and around Dallas-Fort Worth. Nearby attractions include The Dallas World Aquarium in the West End, as well as the Fort Worth Zoo (just about 30 minutes away!), which was listed the top zoo in the nation in 2020. (dfwchild.com)
  2. Tragic news from Grand Prairie: An eight-year-old was killed on I-20 Saturday morning. The accident, which involved three vehicles, occurred around 9:00 AM. Police say they don't expect any charges to be filed in relation to the incident. (FOX 4 Dallas)
  3. More sad news from our roadways: A 37-year-old man was pronounced dead after an accident at the intersection of North Collins Street and the westbound I-30 service road early Sunday morning. A woman was charged with intoxication manslaughter in relation to the fatal crash. Police have not yet released the name of the victim. (FOX 4 Dallas)
  4. Learn more about an incident involving a woman opening fire on four Dallas officers in the Bishop Arts area over at NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth.
  5. A Plano officer is among those convicted for a counterfeit pill operation out of Highland Park (FOX 4 Dallas).
