Here are the top five stories today in Irving:

  1. A suspected burglar was shot on Monday evening in Arlington, police say. The homeowner asked a neighbor to check on their home in the 1700 block of Queensborough Drive around 5:00 PM. The suspect was allegedly in possession of stolen goods from the home when the neighbor fired at him, hitting him multiple times. The suspect's condition is unknown. (CBS DFW)
  2. The Grand Prairie community held a Celebration of Life for a former police department team member on Sunday. Retired K9 officer Bullet served on the force for eight years before his retirement in December 2019. He died following emergency surgery necessitated by a stomach tumor in October. (Focusdailynews)
  3. The City of Irving wants you to prioritize pet care in 2022. According to the American Animal Hospital Association, this includes routine veterinary visits once or twice a year.
