Beginning Monday, Nov. 15, Irving Boulevard will be closed to all traffic (westbound) between N. O'Connor Road and Sowers Road through July 2022, weather permitting, as Phase I of the Irving Boulevard Reconstruction project kicks off.

Normal two-way traffic will be maintained on O'Connor and Sowers Roads at those intersections.

Long-Term Detour

Through July 2022, westbound Irving Boulevard traffic will be detoured at N. O’Connor Road to proceed north to W. Pioneer Drive. Motorists will travel westbound on Pioneer to reconnect with Irving Boulevard. View the detour map.

Irving Boulevard businesses located between Sowers and O'Connor will be accessible only from their O'Connor Road or Rock Island Road entries.

Message boards alerting drivers of the detour will be posted, and motorists are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.
